Paul Izon Reyes Owner, Rufo’s Famous Tapa Since the first 24/7 Rufo’s Famous Tapa house ( opened in August 2003, a new branch has been built every two to three years. In 2011, they put up their first franchise store. In 2012, the first mall branch was established. Now operating a total of 14 tapa houses, Rufo’s intends to grow to 30 branches, inclusive of franchises, by yearend. “We plan to become the no. 1 tapa restaurant by the end of 2013, and in a few years, become the no. 1 affordable, fast-casual. Pinoy restaurant,” says Reyes. He credits the development of the BP0 industry as a major factor in Rufo’s success: “The flourishing economy is always good for all local. businesses.”
